Jazz

Jazz is a resident artist at our Ink Couture Tattoos Austin location.  With a successful career in charcoal and painting, tattooing was a natural progression in Jazz's artistic career.  She is renowned for her photorealism in both black and grey and color as well as bold color graphic and new school styles.

What inspired you into the art of tattooing?
My grandfather and father were artists, so art came naturally to me since I was young. I discovered my ability to create photorealistic drawings using charcoal and graphite. I then decided that I wanted a more fulfilling life and to make a living off my talent. Becoming a tattoo artist is the best decision I’ve ever made. 💕

Tell us about your preferred style of work.
I prefer realism and dark art with a new school and neo-traditional twist. 

What other styles are you known for?
I have clients come to me specifically for color work as well and I really enjoy doing it, as it’s very different from black and grey realism and requires a different approach.

What inspires you as an artist? 
Studying the shapes and shadows that make up the world around us inspires me every day and I always bring that inspiration with me to work. 

Why should someone pick you for their next tattoo/to be their artist?
I take every tattoo seriously. It’s an honor to mark someone for life and nothing in the world feels better than seeing a client appreciate your work. We share the same excitement every time I complete a tattoo.

Anything else you'd like for prospective clients to know about you?
 I LOVE making people laugh. 😍 My clients always walk away happy. Sometimes it even feels like we had a whole therapy session lol I also love to listen to everyone’s backstory or reason for their tattoo.
