How long have you been tattooing professionally? I was fortunate enough to begin tattooing at 13. Hidden from the family, because artists were just "stupid" and didn't wanna work, and due to God's grace, I was forced to feed myself by tattooing by virtue of life's happenings, What inspired you into the art of tattooing? I have been inspired by tattooing because when I finished what seemed to be such a miniscule thing to me in creating what's just floating around in my head, and what god gave me to show the world what "talent" I had, but the ONLY thing that keeps me tattooing 25 years later, makes me understand that I am NOT the most talented artist in the world or even a 10 mile radius sometimes, is the HONEST and PURE interaction with the eyes and smiles of my clients after we finish our joint creativity, I am not the most beautiful looking man, I am broken as a whole and grateful, so very grateful for each sword I fall on, even though most seconds feel like an eternity, every tear I shed in honor of becoming a better man through ALL of my failures, be it my direct or indirect doing, but when I tattoo, when I see the genuine happiness of a client, $5.00 or $5,000 it makes no difference, it's what keeps me want to wake up as I endure the test so I can have a testimony. Why should someone pick you for their next tattoos/to be their artist? When I see the genuine happiness of a client, $5.00 or $5,000 it makes no difference, it's what keeps me want to wake up as I endure the test so I can have a testimony. |
