Rey

A resident artist at our Ink Couture Tattoos Austin location, Rey is a native south Texan.  Renowned for his black and grey, lettering, color and black neotraditional, although he is adept in all styles and genres, Rey focuses on client experience and customer satisfaction.

How long have you been tattooing professionally?
I’ve been tattooing in the Austin area for about 5 yrs now, although my tattoo journey started in early 2000 in my hometown of Laredo Texas, where I apprenticed and learned tattoos and piercings.
 
What inspired you into the art of tattooing?
My inspiration for tattooing started after I got my first tattoo. I’ve always drawn and sketched and just being able to put my designs on skin permanently, was something I feel I love with immediately.

Tell us about your preferred style of work.
My preferred style of artwork is anything black and grey.  I draw a lot with pencil and charcoal, so that style just flows and comes very naturally to me.   

What other styles you're known for? 
I'm extremely versatile in all tattoo styles.  I love doing bold colorful tattoos as well and if you are looking to cover up an old existing tattoo we can share ideas and cover that up for you!!

What inspires you as an artist?
What inspires me as an artist is the ability to learn and grow sharper as an artist with every tattoo I do.  When I complete a tattoo, the finished product motivates me to create another and even better tattoo!

Anything else you'd like prospective clients to know about you?
My priority is making sure my clients get exactly that tattoo they want, leave happy with an amazing tattoo and experience.  I want all my clients to come back to see me and become their tattoo artist for life.
