A rising star in the tattoo industry, Tomi West has skyrocketed in popularity in just a short time. A resident artist at our Shaenfield Ranch, Tomi is not only among the most talented female artists, but a social media sensation. A tattoo by Tomi will not only be one that is treasured, but also a collector's item from this up-and-coming superstar.

How long have you been tattooing professionally?
I've been tattooing about three years! I am still a baby considering the age of everyone else, but, I have a lot of drive to be the best tattooer I can be. I also really enjoy giving people great bedside manner and a comfortable setting to be tattooed in.

What inspired you into the art of tattooing?
I've always had art, from when I was really young. It became my best friend and means of expression. I spent a lot of time on introspection and art growing up instead of going out which definitely gave back when it became a career.

Tell us about your preferred style of work?
I enjoy doing fine line pieces because they require precision and perfect skill to get the lines right!

What other styles are you known for?
Black and grey, dark imagery, trash polka, floral, mandalas, micro-tattoos, heavy blackwork, black-work and stippling.

What inspires you as an artist?
Being able to create something beautiful with my hands that could possibly mirror how amazing the world can look sometimes or how dreadful it can be at other time. Being outside and seeing flowers sometimes triggers me to draw them as well. I just embrace the ugliness and beauty of the world and try to represent it well. Though I don't get too many dark tattoos, I would love to do more of those as well.

Why should someone pick you for their next tattoo/to be their artist?
Because I genuinely enjoy what I do and don't do it just for the money which to me shows when the tattoo is the depth it should be: that's driven by passion, not filling pockets.

Anything else you'd like for prospective clients to know about you?
I'm a qttr and I am judgment free and welcoming. I also have a tiny fireplace so get ready to get ultra comfortable.
