The Manager at our Shaenfield Ranch location, Lex is a tattoo legend, not only in San Antonio, but worldwide.  His reputation is only exceeded by his skill, passion, and dedication to the art of tattooing.  Lex is a true master of all styles from photo realism, portraits, graphic illustrative, American Traditional, greyscale, and all styles in between.  Each tattoo by Lex is truly a masterpiece and a piece of wearable art that you will treasure for years to come.

How long have you been tattooing professionally?
I have been tattooing in a shop professionally for 20 years here in San Antonio and in Las Vegas.

What inspired you into the art of tattooing?
I have always been involved in art one way or another throughout my life, drawing since I was a kid playing instruments since I was a kid.  Then seeing all the tattoos my grandfather had from being in the navy and being into art just came together, then learning about artists like Jack Rudy, Mark Mahoney, and Sailor Jerry. 

Tell us about your preferred style of work.
I prefer to do realism: whether it is black and grey or color.  I also do American traditional and neo traditional as well.

What other styles are you known for?
Black and grey photo realism and color realism and Japanese.

What inspires you as an artist?
There’s art in everything in life in nature the way buildings are built. I see art in everything form.

Why should someone pick you for their next tattoo/to be their artist?
I have 20 years experience in many forms of tattooing and will create custom pieces that no one will have on their body except you that’s getting the specific piece.
