How long have you been tattooing professionally? I have been tattooing professionally for sixteen years after an apprenticeship at Prick Tattoos. I branched out at my own licensed shop in 2014 and joined the Ink Couture Tattoos team in 2024. What inspired you into the art of tattooing? I starting getting tattoos in the late 1990's while I was in the military. That's when I was inspired to do tattoos. While stationed in Hawaii, Miami Ink was airing. I was inspired to become a tattooer from watching the show. I started tattooing shortly after that. When I got out of the Marines and moved to Texas I started an apprenticeship. Tell us about your preferred style of work. Fine- line, traditional, Japanese, anime, realism, and neo-traditional. What other styles are you known for? I am known for American traditional and Japanese as well as cover ups. What inspires you as an artist? All art inspires me as well as being able to create from my mind. Why should someone pick you for their next tattoo/to be their artist? I’ve been told I’m “light-handed”. I am able to communicate effectively with clients so that they get the tattoo they want. I’m transparent, and easy to work with. My goal is to find the best design for the client’s idea and to exceed their expectations. |
